Lisa Gade reviews the Microsoft Lumia 950, the first high end Lumia in quite some time. The Lumia 950 has a 5.2” QHD 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display and it runs Windows 10 for phones on the 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 808 with Adreno 418 graphics, 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of storage. It has a removable 3,000 mAh battery and a microSD card slot. The Lumia has a front 5MP camera and a rear PureView 20MP camera with f/1.9 Carl Zeiss lens, OIS and dual LED flash. It can capture 4K video and is compatible with downloadable Lenses.

The phone is available unlocked for GSM networks direct from Microsoft for $550 and AT&T offers it in the US for $600. It supports Windows Continuum so you can use the phone with a display, keyboard and mouse.

In the past I've used a Nokia 920 phone, and like it. The only problem I had was the app store. I don't need thousands of apps, but it always seemed it was missing something my friends had on Android. Hey do you have this app? No it's not available. What about this one or Instagram? Well this is a crummy beta that will work. Maybe I'm way behind the times, but MS should make a deal with someone to have all apps. I considered getting this phone, because it looks amazing. I've always liked the Windows phone UI, and even my wife liked it. In the end, I'll stay with Android because of the app market, and I have an android tablet. However, I'll keep my eye on this on Ebay in the event I can pickup the 950 pretty cheap.
I absolutely loved these phones until they upgraded to Win 10, and completely changed the menu's and it was completely buggy. I switched back to WP8 several times before giving up and going back to Android. I rue the day MS ruined the Nokia brand.

Microsoft screwed up by not releasing decent phones on the small carriers. Metro, Boost, Virgin. They thought they were too good for them yet iphone and samsung are on them. Dumb now they are out of the business. Their fault.

Right now iPhone 7 is £699.00 from Apple Store. Lumia 950 is £249 from Microsoft store with a FREE Display Dock*. Since the iPhone is not almost 3X as good, I didn't buy one. No prizes for guessing with phone I have just ordered.
